Make $45,000 a Month With This Affiliate Hack
Ok, this is an interesting hack with affiliate income from a side hustler who claims making $45,000 a month doing it. On the surface it's amazing, considering I just read about diskspaces.com and how the owner is making $5,000/mo with a simple Amazon affiliate website about hard disks.
The moral of this story is this, with enough web traffic and SEO juice, you too can generate affiliate income that makes you a living. So how do you do it without a lot of hassle and even programmatically?
Simple, you use Hugo and a bit of elbow grease.
Linking the affiliates
I'm a hobby photographer and I use certain cameras and products to aid me in my hobby. I thought to myself, why not try to recommend those cameras and gear and see if I could earn a bit of cash? So I decided to set up a Linktree clone using Hugo on links.thomasott.io, and promote those products (gently) on my Instagram. It's an experiment, of course, so I'll have to see how it'll pan out over the year.
The overall process is this:
- Set up a Hugo site using the Lynx theme
- Set up an Amazon Affiliate (AA) account (if you don't have one)
- Create an Instagram account (if you don't already have one)
- Find the products I recommend on AA and build affiliate links in the config.toml file (programmatically)
- Promote on Instagram using the link in the bio method
I am deviating from Cass's recommendation to put this on Pinterest, which has high SEO juice, but since these recommendations are geared toward photographers the Instagram and Flickr route feels like the right way to go.
Time will tell.
